Speaking about a proposed merger between phone giants, Vodafone and Three, Steff said: "Better phone coverage isn’t just for gamers and gossipers. With traditional landlines going, mobile phones are essential for everyday living, from banking to business, from farmers in remote fields to people with health issues. Stronger signals can help us all.”
After meeting with Vodafone to learn about its plans for the area, Steff said: “The merger presents significant opportunities to improve mobile services in our rural district, and eleven billion pounds of investment is promised if the deal goes ahead”.
He’s written to the Competition and Markets Authority to offer his support for the proposed merger.
Steff added: “Better mobile phone coverage is just one of a range of improvements people in North Norfolk need. This government has let us down badly but their number’s up, and it’s time to ring the changes. Health, transport and education have all suffered badly under the Conservatives, and I will be calling on future governments to invest properly in North Norfolk. Our communities need change. They deserve better."
